Pasco-Hernando Community College Public Service Technology Building

The new Public Service Technology Building for Pasco-Hernando Community College (PHCC) is a new 41,000 SF split level training and educational facility. The building includes forensic laboratories, an auditorium, library/reading room, mock court room, interrogation rooms and classrooms. There are also simulation labs where students are taught how to do forensic work on vehicles involved in a crime as well as how to bring in, process and book offenders.

Outside the building is a large driving pad training facility. This is used to train officers how to drive police vehicles under high speed conditions, during rainy weather, as well as other dangerous conditions.

This project had a 12-month schedule and was completed on time in April 2002.  This was PHCC’s first experience with the Construction Management Process.  The project’s success led to the award of three additional projects for Ajax on the PHCC campus.
