Pasco County Schools Cypress Creek Middle School

The Cypress Creek Middle School project will be a brand new campus of approximately 185,000 – 195,000 square feet next to the current Cypress Creek Middle High School which has been serving as both since Fall 2017.

When this new facility opens, expected in 2020, it will serve grades six through eight and be Pasco County’s largest middle school housing 1,600 student stations. The design will have a strong focus on fine and performing arts. There will be a dedicated wing with its own black box theater separate from the main building for accessibility and use after school hours.

Given that the current middle/high school is catering to grades six through 11, this project will be fast-tracked and the plan for tilt wall construction will be key. Also, since the new campus will be adjacent to the active one, Ajax will ensure the safety and separation of the students and school staff from the construction area.

CURRENT STATUS (as of 11/26/19)

In Building 1, we completed the MEP overhead rough and passed the above ceiling final inspection on the 1st floor. Permanent power and lighting is installed and the HVAC system is running on both floors. We began installing ceiling tiles and are still working on the IDF build out. In Building 2, MEP rough in is being completed throughout the building. Level 5 finish is complete in the north and center portion of the building and painting has begun in this area. Framing is complete on the southeast side of the building and drywall finishing has begun. The Blackbox theater area is currently being insulated and then drywall. In Building 3 on the 1st floor we have passed the above ceiling final inspection and completed the installation of lockers. Permanent power and lighting is installed and the HVAC system is running on the 1st floor. On the 2nd floor locker installation is complete, permanent light fixtures are being set, ceiling trim and ceramic tile are in progress. On the 3rd floor painting is complete and locker installation along with casework is on-going.
