Pasco County Schools Cypress Creek Middle School

The Cypress Creek Middle School project will be a brand new campus of approximately 185,000 – 195,000 square feet next to the current Cypress Creek Middle High School which has been serving as both since Fall 2017.

When this new facility opens, expected in 2020, it will serve grades six through eight and be Pasco County’s largest middle school housing 1,600 student stations. The design will have a strong focus on fine and performing arts. There will be a dedicated wing with its own black box theater separate from the main building for accessibility and use after school hours.

Given that the current middle/high school is catering to grades six through 11, this project will be fast-tracked and the plan for tilt wall construction will be key. Also, since the new campus will be adjacent to the active one, Ajax will ensure the safety and separation of the students and school staff from the construction area.

CURRENT STATUS (as of 12/30/19)

In Building 1 all the ceiling tile, casework, marker boards, tack boards and exterior Signage have been completed. The cables are being pulled in the IDF rooms and VCT is being installed in the classrooms on both floors. In Building 2 the storefront has been completed and drywall is being taped and finished in the Black Box. The ceramic tile has been installed in the Serving and Kitchen area and ceiling angles and hanger wires are being installed. The electrical and ductwork are ongoing through-out the building. In Building 3 all the wood doors and mini split units have been installed. The installation of the Interior railings and elevator is in progress. In Building 4 all the Gymnasium lights are mounted in place and speakers are installed. The sub base for wood floor has been delivered and will acclimatize for two (2) weeks before installation. The locker pads have been formed, poured and stripped in each Locker Room and ceramic tile is being installed. On the site, the egress portal frames for the courtyard are being formed.
