Monroe County Schools Marathon High School Athletic Complex

This exciting project will provide Marathon High School with a brand new athletic complex totaling 530,400 square feet. Included in this will be a 2,850 square feet football and track building as well as a 680 square feet baseball and softball building. A new parking lot, storm water retention ponds, sports fields, lighting and concession stands will also be part of this new construction.

The high school will be occupied during this multiple phased project. Both Phase 1 and 2 will occur in the Summer/Fall season of 2018 through January 2019. There will be a brief intermission from January 2019 to May 2019 for the baseball and softball seasons. The project will resume then from May and complete in September.

CURRENT STATUS (as of 5/7/19)

During the month of April, the multi-use field turned green and the football concessions structure was
completed. The multi-purpose field ortona sand turf base layer was spread across the entire field and fine graded prior to sod placement in late-April. Track sports installation was completed in early April, including triple/long jump, pole vault, discus, shot put, and high jump. The track is being final graded now and will be paved in early May. Football field lighting installation is wrapping up this week with the four 80′ poles being set and fixtures aimed at the field. The practice field sod will be completed in early May. The football concessions structure was completed in April and the roof will be dried in in early May. Demolition for Phase 2 will begin in May and field work will immediately follow.
