The new Lake County East Ridge High School sits on an extremely hilly 92 acre site. This 283,000 SF facility has 1,962 student stations for 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th grade students. Construction began in February 2001 and was completed 2 1/2 months ahead of schedule in June 2002. Ajax was able to save Lake County Schools $462,792 in sales tax dollars due to our Direct Purchase Program. Due to scope that was added to the project during construction over $1,058,000 was saved on the project.
The site consists of four 2-story classroom buildings, housing classrooms, administration and guidance areas, science labs, CCTV studio, media center, art and health occupation areas. Six additional buildings hold the music department, including band and choral rooms, a state-of- the-art kitchen and food service cafeteria, gymnasium, auditorium and vocational areas. The buildings are comprised of CMU and brick construction including 383,000 pieces and 8,300 cubic yards of concrete, standing seam metal roof on the main buildings and pre-engineered metal buildings for vocational and maintenance use.
The site has its own football stadium with bleachers and stadium lights, a soccer field, baseball and softball fields, physical education fields, tennis courts and racquetball courts.
