Jackson County Courthouse Renovations

The Jackson County Courthouse renovation project will be divided up into two phases for the alteration, refurbishment and upgrades to the existing interior building.

These alterations will include new carpeting, pew upholstery, paint, and mill work refurbishment in the courtrooms; security reinforcements for the holding cells; camera security system upgrades; air duct cleaning for the entire building; new carpet and paint for the 2nd floor offices; removal of paneling and refurbishment of hallway walls; renovation of the terrazzo hallway floors on the 2nd floor; and a new fire suppression system.

From its start date, this project will be fast-tracked and Ajax, being quite familiar with occupied site construction, will keep disruption of day to day operations to a minimum. Ajax completed exterior renovations to the courthouse back in 2012 so there is an intimate understanding going into the project of its daily operations.

CURRENT STATUS (as of 1/6/20)

Carpet has been completed in the North Admin area. Panels have been installed in the North corridor, from the floor up to 5 feet. Fire Sprinklers have been installed throughout the 2nd floor, except in the holding cells. VCT has been installed in the Janitor’s closets. Floor finishes for the Elevator, and the tiled portion in front of the elevator doors were reviewed with the Owner. The broken exterior windows have been replaced and the lightning protection has been repaired. New water fountains for the building have been received on site. Acoustical Ceiling to be replaced in the South Corridor the week of 1/6/20. Floor polishing the terrazzo tile throughout the building will take place before JCCH staff moves back in.
