Eastern Florida State College Student Union (Melbourne Campus)

The new Student Union building is Ajax’s third major new building construction project for the College and will be a hub of student activity on the College’s Melbourne campus. The facility will comprise 28,000 square feet with space for a variety of student services including student government, clubs and activities, computer, study and advising rooms, as well as a food court.

The Student Union will also house services for the Career Planning and Development Center where students get assistance to select the career path that’s best for them, learn job-hunting skills, participate in job fairs, gain internships, and meet with recruiters from business and industry.

CURRENT STATUS (as of 12/3/2018)

First floor final paint is 80% complete. First floor millwork is 70% complete. First floor electrical trim out is 80% complete. First floor tile installation is 95% complete. Food vendor equipment is on site. First floor overhead inspections are complete. First floor ceiling tile is 50% complete. First floor interior glass is 90% complete. Second floor tile is 90% complete. Second floor Air Handler is operational. Second floor plumbing trim out is 100% complete. Second floor drywall is 100% hung and final paint is 10% complete. Operable partitions are 100% complete. Audio Visual pre-wiring is 100% complete. Exterior Swiss Pearl is 80% complete. Curtain Wall and Storefront glass install is 75% complete. Dewatering operations are continuing for the northern pond excavation. North underground sewer and storm water drainage lines are 100% complete. Student Union building stucco is 100% complete. Exterior planters and seat walls are 90% complete. Closeout submittals are on-going.
