Ajax Building Corporation Awards Best Subcontractors of 2018

18 Trade Partners of Excellence in Six Regions

Tallahassee, Florida: 2018 was a busy and exciting year for Ajax Building Corporation, and with that came the opportunity to work with some of the most talented and dedicated subcontractors across six regions ranging from North Georgia to the Florida Keys.

Each year, Ajax Building Corporation acknowledges and celebrates the exceptional quality, teamwork and high safety standards of subcontractors in three professional categories:

  • Core Trades (Site, Structural, and Building).
  • Finish Trades.
  • MEP/FP/T Trades (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Technology).

The following 18 honorees have been recognized as being instrumental in the success of our 2018 projects.

North Florida Region: All three of these subcontractors were recognized for their outstanding performance on the Florida State University Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences Building which is currently under construction.

  • Core Trades: Dixie Paving and Grading Company, Inc.
  • Finish Trades: Evcon Services, Inc.
  • MEP/FP/T Trades: Lewis & Thompson Electric, Inc.

Northeast Florida Region: All three of these subcontractors were recognized for their outstanding performance on multiple continuing contract projects for Duval County Public Schools where they were faced with logistical challenges, non-typical work schedules and working on occupied campuses.

  • Core Trades: Birken Construction, Inc.
  • Finish Trades: Moyer Marble & Tile Company
  • MEP/FP/T Trades: AEC Electrical Contracting, Inc.

Central Florida Region:

  • Core Trades: Tomoka Construction Services, Inc. for their outstanding performance on the Volusia County Sheriff’s Evidence Storage Facility.
  • Finish Trades: A&W Construction Services, Inc. for their outstanding performance on the Volusia County Sheriff’s Evidence Storage Facility, Orange County Pine Hills Bussing Compound, Eastern Florida State College Student Union, and the Florida Department of Agriculture Bronson Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory.
  • MEP/FP/T Trades: Boys Electrical Contractors, LLC. for their outstanding performance on the Orange County Pine Hills Bussing Compound, Eastern Florida State College Student Union, and the Florida Department of Agriculture Bronson Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory.

West Florida Region:

  • Core Trades: Rhyno Glass, LLC for their outstanding performance on the St. Petersburg Police Department Headquarters.
  • Finish Trades: West Star Interiors, Inc. for their outstanding performance on the Hillsborough County Robinson High School Addition and the Monroe County Gerald Adams Elementary School.
  • MEP/FP/T Trades: Pelican Electrical Group, Inc. for their outstanding performance on the Pinellas County Technical College.

Southwest Florida Region:

  • Core Trades: Charley Toppino & Sons, Inc. for their outstanding performance on Monroe County Gerald Adams Elementary School and the Florida Keys Community College Entrance & Guardhouse.
  • Finish Trades: ABC/All American Ceilings, Inc. for their outstanding performance on the Gerald Adams Elementary School.
  • MEP/FT/T Trades: NCN Electric, Inc. for their outstanding performance on the Gerald Adams Elementary School, the Charlotte County Justice Center, and the Charlotte County Schools Security Upgrades.

Georgia:

  • Core Trades: Wheeler Services, Inc. for their outstanding performance on the Georgia Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security Expansion and Renovation, the Georgia Department of Public Safety Service Building & Headquarters Upgrades, and the Georgia Tech Campus Safety Facility.
  • Finish Trades: Cliatt Construction, Inc. for their outstanding performance on the Augusta University Greenblatt Library Renovation.
  • MEP/FP/T Trades: Conditioned Air Systems, Inc. for their outstanding performance on the Georgia Department of Public Safety Service Building & Headquarters Upgrades, and the Georgia Tech Campus Safety Facility.
